Dear Friend,
On behalf of our family at Calvary Church, I want to welcome you to Calvary Preschool.
The goal of Calvary Preschool is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through a biblical environment that prepares students to glorify God spiritually, physically, academically, and socially. Our supreme desire is that our students will learn to value the mandate to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength” (Mark 12:30).
God has clearly identified parents as the primary educators of their children. You are their first line of defense and instruction. But we would love to come alongside families and help them develop godly character in their children by providing quality Christian education. We recognize that this partnership calls for the like-mindedness of all involved in the education process, so that each student’s academic and spiritual development may reach maturity. We value the trust you place in us as we pursue our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and we look forward to co-laboring with you in this venture.
For the glory of God,
Skip Heitzig, Senior Pastor
Pastor Chuck Smith encourages a Christ-centered education, comparing and contrasting the prevalent mindset of government schools with a Christ-based education. He offers encouragement, analyses, and insight to the goal of Christian education; drawing the conclusion that education is to be both academic as well as Christ-based.
The Master Teacher by Brian C. Nixon – Written as a primer for Christian schools, Sunday schools, and church-sponsored education groups, The Master Teacher discusses the Biblical base for developing a philosophy of education. Focusing on the foundation, framework, and fruit of a Christ-based model.
KLYT radio interviews Brian Nixon about the unique paideia form of education implemented at Calvary Church schools.

* Schedule varies depending on program; this is an example of a typical Calvary Preschool day.
** Activities may vary based on projects and individual teacher lessons. If weather does not allow us to go outside, our students will be able to participate in a teacher-led indoor gross motor development activity.
*** Quiet/rest/nap time: Every day, the Aftercare Program has a quiet/rest/nap time as required by the New Mexico Child Care Regulations.
Calvary Preschool will participate in three service projects during the school year.
Operation Christmas Child
Feed New Mexico Kids
CareNet
We use these projects to teach children about spreading Jesus’ love by giving to others in need. Each project is connected to a fruit of the Spirit to teach Christlike character.
Please know that donations are voluntary. You may choose to participate in one, two or all three projects. Your child will participate in all three projects regardless of whether you donate items to the project or not and will learn the biblical principles behind giving.
Calvary Preschool is committed to instilling Bible Truths into the hearts and minds of our students. In line with our school’s philosophy, we strive to educate the whole child, in wisdom, stature, favor with God, and favor with man.
We recognize that each child is unique and created in the image of God. We desire to come alongside our families and students in the instruction of God’s Word so that each student will understand the magnitude of God’s love for them. At the preschool stages of development, children understand the world around them in a concrete and literal sense. Our program is designed to help students understand that the Bible is a historical, God-breathed document. To communicate these concepts to our students, we partner with two established curriculums, DiscipleLand and Storybook, to create a specialized program for daily Bible instruction and chapel.
Calvary Preschool is proud to offer Little Virtuoso’s music time to students enrolled in our programs. Little Virtuoso’s is a customized fine arts program designed to build a musical foundation and verbal vocabulary through storytelling, active movement, and dramatic expression. Students learn to sing simple songs on pitch, tap a steady beat, tap and count different timing patterns, learn note names and their values, recognize names and sounds of musical instruments, and experience increased vocabulary of fine motor skill awareness. Our students are guided through an age-appropriate music curriculum with the instruction of an experienced music teacher.

We ask that you carefully read and review the parent handbook. By becoming informed, you will be able to decide if Calvary Preschool is the right fit for your child.
Once you have decided that Calvary Preschool would be a great place for your child, fill out the online application.
You will be contacted by email within 5 days of applying. If you are selected as a candidate for admission the email will contain a link to finish the online registration process. If it was determined that the preschool is not a good fit for your family the email inform you.
Once your registration is complete, you will be contacted and an admissions meeting will be scheduled. This meeting is an opportunity for the preschool director to become familiar with the student and meet each family individually. Approval for school enrollment will be decided at this time.
After the completion of the above steps, your child will become an official Calvary Preschool student. The registration and supply fees are due at this time.
